Buck The System was founded by filmmaker David Kirk West in 2011 with the goal of telling powerful stories that can change the world... And buck the system. Since then, Buck The System has grown into a small start-to-finish production company with ten narrative short films, half a dozen documentary shorts, and countless advertisements, PSAs, and corporate videos under its belt.

 

          In August 2017, Buck The System released its first feature film; a musical adaptation of the classic allegorical novel The Pilgrim's Progress that it produced in conjunction with Rogue Valley Fellowship of Medford, Oregon.           Now 28, David lives in Klamath Falls, Oregon with his wife Kassie and their two young children, Scarlett and Kirk. Outside of making and watching films, David enjoys spending time with his family, attending church, backpacking and exploring God's majestic creation, and further honing his cinematography skills by practicing landscape and astrophotography.
